Solomon Announces New Solar Charge Converter Products
TARPON SPRINGS, FL. August 16, 2006 — Solomon Technologies, Inc. the industry leader in design and manufacture of fully integrated electric power drive systems and transmission components announced today two new products that will allow the use of solar panels and wind generators for charging high voltage battery banks.
Up till now, if you wanted to use solar power to charge your 144 VDC battery bank you had to hook 12 solar panels in series to achieve the needed voltage. Unfortunately, for most mobile applications this is quite impractical mainly because of the limitation of available space for mounting the panels. With either the 300 Watt or 1000 Watt Solar Charge Converter you can now install any number of solar panels and the Solar Charge Converter provides the correct voltage to the battery bank.
Both of the Solomon Technologies Solar Charge Converters accept input voltage of 10 to 22 VDC and output the correct float voltage for charging the 144 VDC battery bank. Both Solar Charge Converters have low voltage and high voltage shutoff protection and over temperature protection. You will need to use solar panels with an output of 12 VDC nominal (10 to 22 VDC). Please check with the manufacturer of your solar panels for correct parallel connection.
These new products greatly enhance our already impressive array of electric and hybrid system components. Thru the utilization of solar, Solomon Technologies continues to move toward Green solutions that will save you money while being kind to the planet Earth.
