STPU 6000 HD PMS 6 kw generator with
portion of sound-shield removed
The generator supplied with our propulsion system is the STPU
HD PMS (Solomon Technologies Power Unit, Heavy Duty, Permanent
Magnet Series). These generators are manufactured for us by
Icemaster GMBH of Paderborn, Germany, parent company of US
distributor Fischer-Panda. They are designed specifically
to work with the Solomon Electric Propulsion System. Solomon
Propulsion Systems are complete systems and as such are completely
covered under our warranty. This provides our customers with
the peace of mind that service, should it be needed, is only
one phone call away.
Unlike conventional AC marine generators,
our water-cooled, diesel generator produces 144 VDC to charge
the battery bank directly, without going through an AC battery
charger. The STPU provides long-distance motoring range and
abundant supplies of 144 VDC power for conversion to 115/230
VAC through our optional inverter. Generator size is determined
by the amount of amperage draw required for electric motor
operation and other onboard electrical appliance consumption.
STPU generators are available in sizes ranging
from 4 kw to 35 kw, providing power capabilities for single
and twin configurations of all our motor drives.
